AboutFounder & Legacy

One father’s calling. One son’s commitment.A vision that belongs to God.

Two generations · One calling
Our legacy

The story of Baja Vision Ministries is deeply personal.

The founder

He knew what it meant to grow up without love.

Its founder knew what it meant to grow up without the love and protection every child deserves.

After experiencing a difficult childhood and spending time on the streets, his life eventually took a different direction through faith in Jesus Christ.

As a pastor, he recognized that many children in Tijuana were experiencing the same absence of love, security, and family that he had known.

He believed God was calling him to do something about it.

Baja Vision Ministries 1995

In 1995, that conviction became Baja Vision Ministries.

Two generations

Decades later, the same calling found a new generation.

The moment everything changed

One afternoon. One rooftop. One decision.

Growing up

Seyr, the founder’s son and current president of Baja Vision Ministries, had grown up serving alongside his father. As a young adult, he had completed his education and was preparing for a promising professional career. Yet one question continued to weigh on his heart:

Who would carry on his father’s work?

One day, while helping build a home for a family in Tijuana, Seyr watched his father, then 77 years old, working on a rooftop with a hammer in his hands.

The decision

That moment changed the direction of his life.

Instead of pursuing the career opportunity before him, Seyr chose to follow the calling he believed God had placed on his heart. He asked his father to teach him everything he knew:

How toBuild homes
How toPreach the Gospel
How toBring hope to families and children in need
Carrying the vision forward

More than passing leadership to the next generation.

Today, as president of Baja Vision Ministries, Seyr continues the work his father began.

But this legacy is about more than passing leadership from one generation to another.

It is about remaining faithful to the God who inspired the vision in the first place.
