A Home Changes More Than Where a Family Lives.

Homes built alongside Tijuana families
Home Building

More than shelter. A place to belong.

For a family facing difficult living conditions, a safe home can represent far more than shelter.

It can mean
Protection from the elements
A place for children to rest and study
The peace of knowing there is a space they can call their own

10,000
homes built for families throughout Tijuana

Since 1995, home construction has become one of the most active and established expressions of Baja Vision Ministries’ mission.

With the support of churches, volunteers, and mission teams, we have helped build approximately 10,000 homes for families throughout Tijuana.

But behind every home is something greater than a construction project

There is a family. There is a story. And there is an opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ.

Building together. Changing lives together.

Beyond traditional outreach.

Our home-building ministry creates an opportunity for mission teams to move beyond traditional outreach and participate in meaningful, hands-on service.

Churches and volunteers work alongside Baja Vision to construct homes for families in need.

The experience is not simply about completing a building. It is about developing relationships, serving with humility, and discovering how God can work through ordinary people.
What does a home-building mission trip look like?

Three days. One home. A lifetime of impact.

A typical three-day home-building mission trip follows a structured process.

Day 1

Building the Walls

After arriving and settling into our mission base, the team begins working on the family’s home.

The concrete foundation is prepared in advance, allowing volunteers to focus on raising the walls and beginning the structure.

Completing the Structure

The team continues construction, including roofing and interior drywall work.

Evenings provide opportunities for fellowship, reflection, and devotional time.

Giving the Family Their New Home

The final day brings the completion and handover of the home to the family.

It is a moment that often leaves a lasting impression on both the family receiving the home and the volunteers who helped build it.

Everyone has a place

You don’t have to be a builder to make a difference.

Our teams have included experienced carpenters, electricians, and construction professionals, as well as individuals who have never picked up a hammer.

We welcome churches and groups interested in discovering how their time, talents, and resources can make a difference.

A lasting impact
15+consecutive years — how long many of our church partners have returned to serve

They return not only because of the homes they help build, but because of the relationships, experiences, and shared commitment to serving others.

A house may be completed in three days. The hope it brings can last for generations.
